Methods for cleaning mushrooms in particular depend on their age and size. Do I need to remove the film from young mushrooms? This is not necessary, because these fruiting bodies are rather delicate and they do not have such a rough film as representatives of other types of mushroom “kingdom”. In addition, the honey agar’s film is neither oily nor slippery, unlike oily, so it does not need to be removed. All that is needed is simply to cut off the lower part of the leg with a knife, and also to scrape off heavily contaminated places: earth, adhering grass, and also leaves.
