Chanterelles have a rather remarkable appearance: bright and beautiful hats with wavy edges, the plates under the hat smoothly descend almost to the middle of the leg, whose height is no more than 6-8 cm. Young mushrooms have a flat hat, and in adulthood it looks like a funnel or an inverted umbrella.

Further you will find out where and in what forests chanterelle mushrooms grow. Mixed forests, birch forests, less often pine forests, and also spruce forests serve as a usual growing place for these fruiting bodies.

It is worth saying that the chanterelles grow in large groups or families. Therefore, if you find only one specimen on the earth, look around: you will see many more little red beauties. Mushroom pickers argue that if you carefully look around and with a stick to lift small tubercles on the ground, you can collect more than one basket of forest gifts. We offer several visual photos showing where the chanterelle mushrooms grow in the forest:

Chanterelles have always been and are considered amazing fruiting bodies. For example, when it rains for a long time, these mushrooms never rot. If the summer is dry, then the fruiting bodies do not dry, but simply stop growing. Therefore, knowing where the chanterelle mushrooms grow, experienced lovers of the “quiet” hunt always gather fresh and juicy fruit bodies in any forest. The best place for growing chanterelles is chosen in moist places with acidic soil, for example, near lakes or rivers.

Note that chanterelles are valued for their elastic and dense structure, which does not allow them to break during transportation. That is why mushrooms can be collected in buckets and even plastic bags. However, they need to be very carefully cut with a knife 1.5-2 cm above the ground so as not to damage the mycelium. If you did not have a knife at hand, the best option for collecting would be to unscrew the chanterelle counterclockwise.

Chanterelles are an edible type of mushroom with an unusually pleasant taste and aroma. These fruiting bodies have found many connoisseurs among gourmets. It is noted that they are widespread throughout the country. Even in the northern latitudes of Russia, chanterelle mushrooms grow where there is acidic soil.
